Q. What are my pre-requisites for taking an IDC?
A. Hold a Dive Master rating, have 100!? logged dives and be open water certified for six months.

Q. Can I take an IDC course with less than 100 dives?
A. Yes, if you are attending a CDC and you are enrolled in five pre or post courses other than the IDC.

Q. How far ahead should I enroll and pick up my materials?
A. You should plan on enough time to complete all pre-course assignments. Usually most students allow at least 3-4 weeks.

Q: Do I have to be a ER/CFC provider to be become an ER/CFC Instructor?
A: Yes, in order to become a ER / CFC instructor you do have to be certified as a student first.

Q: After taking a least 5 Instructor specialties do I gain the MSDT rating?
A: Not until you have certified 25 divers and submitted the MSDT application. Remember, you will have gained 5 more teaching specialties after completion of the MSDT course.

Q: What is the average age and size of your classes?
A: 5 - 10 students (Our student –instructor ratios are lower than PADI requires).

Q: How many days will my IDC prep, IDC, EFRI, MSDT last?
A: If you complete the IDC preparation program ( 2 days ) together with the AI plus the OWSI or IDC ( 7 days ) you also have 2 days of your IE, so for basic instructor training 11 days. EFRI is a further 2 days & MSDT a further 4 days.

Q: Can further education programs be completed during the weekends?
A: Of course, we prefer you to concentrate on your IDC in a weekly format, which after many years of experience results in the most effective development method, but all other continuing education programs may be completed during weekend formats.

Q: Why does The European DC offer the P.R.O level training program:
A: The European DC’s Specialist P.R.O level programs followed an analysis of the required job functions of resort personnel. From this research, we designed the P.R.O level curriculum that truly prepares diving professionals for a career in the diving industry. The P.R.O level 3 program especially offers valid Internship stage allowing new instructors to gain valuable training experience, plus enables them to certify students under the direction and supervision of The European DC’s Instructors, receiving this kind of guidance directly after your training has finished gives you a head start when you show up for your first job as an Instructor in the dive Industry. It is a copyrighted program, written and developed by The European DC’s Course Directors!

Q: How long does it take to go through The European DC’s P.R.O level 3 program
A: 12 days.

Q: Can I work while doing my training?
A: Due to the comprehensive nature of the program and the necessary requirement to get you out and working in a short period of time, it is not recommended.

Q: How long before I get a job?
A: On average, as little as six weeks.

Q: Where do I stay, or, do you have other places to recommend to stay?
A: Being located in a tourist town like Santa Margherita there is plenty of accommodation nearby hotels with whom we have negotiated rates. There are several within 5 min walking distance. Prices starting from 20.00 euro per night, for the platinum Level program and other longer based career orientated programs, apartments with cooking facilities are available.

Q: Do The European DC’s Instructor programs include all PADI fees?
A: Yes, if you choose one of the Pro Level 1,2 or 3. If you book an the IDC program for example the price doesn’t include Padi frees.

Q: Is job placement only for the who has signed up to a more extensive program?
A: No, you qualify for our job placement program even if you just complete basic Instructor training with us, we do however recommend you complete more specialized training to be more competitive and valuable to dive centers and resorts.

Q: Does The European DC hire their new Instructors?
A: Absolutely.
